Where are you located? We are located at 1450 Guilford College Rd, Jamestown NC 27282.
-
What does a typical service look like? You can expect an atmosphere that matches our name, friendly. The service lasts sixty to seventy minutes and is comprised of announcements, a call to worship, both hymns and praise choruses, confession of beliefs, confession of faith, sharing God's providence, reading of scripture, and preaching the Word. Here is an example bulletin.
-
What do I wear? There is no dress code here. Although some come wearing their “Sunday best," others are more casually dressed. We welcome everyone to our services. Clothing is really of secondary importance - the heart is always God's greatest concern. "Man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart." (1 Samuel 16:7)
-
Where do I park? You are welcome to park anywhere in the Friendly Hills parking lot. However, we have special parking spaces by the front doors labeled for first-and second-time visitors, as well as handicapped parking.
-
Do you have programming for children?Absolutely! We provide Sunday School classes from 0-12th grade. Upon arrival, a greeter will help you find the correct room to drop off your children. Children aged 0-4 are invited to attend our nursery classes. Children aged 5-3rd grade are encouraged to participate in the first part of the worship service and then attend Children's Church, a time of age specific teaching. Children aged 4th grade and older will worship with their families. They are encouraged to take notes on the sermon (sermon note sheets available). In addition to children's programing, Friendly Hills also sponsors a vibrant youth group with activities scheduled on Sunday nights and at other times.
-
What time does church start? The worship service starts at 10:30 am, so you will want to show up a little early to find a seat and/or get your children checked-in to nursery.
-
When is Sunday School?Sunday School for all ages starts at 9:15 am. We like spending this time learning from gifted teachers in our church about various theological topics and scripture. Children and adults Sunday School are held in the education building. The youth class (grades 6th-12th) meet in the main building adjacent to the front entrance. If needed a greeter can direct you to your destination.
